Abdominal FAQs

Perfect abs don't come easily. Sure, you can do as many sit-ups as you like. But, if everything else you are doing is not quite right, you may be drifting further and further away from achieving well-defined ripped abs. Find out what's right or wrong from the Frequently Asked Questions below.

Question 1: I complete a hundred sit-ups a day, so how come I don't have ripped abs?

Answer: Check your technique first of all. The quality of the exercise is as important as the number of reps you are doing. Secondly, make sure you are overloading your stomach muscles (increasing the demands you are making on them) by targeting them from several different angles. You won't be able to this with sit-ups alone, but the combination of exercises I have recommended should work like a charm here. And remember that your abs is just like any other muscle which can be overexerted. Always allow at least a day between ab workouts.

Question 2: I have got a layer of fat on my abs that I just can't shift. What can I do to get rid of it?

Answer: I think you could do with giving your diet the once-over. Exercise on its own is no guarantee you will end up with a perfect ripped abs. What's more, it's highly impossible to lose fat from just one area of your body. So, do make sure your follow your diet plan strictly. Get into the habit of watching what you eat and when you eat it.
