Effective Interval Training to Achieve Ripped Abs

Interval training involves high-intensity efforts followed by recovery periods of less intense activity. It has been a successful training trick of both professional and amateur athletes for years. No matter how fit you are, it is a great way to burn body fat off quickly to reveal your well-defined ripped abs(not to mention it kick-starts your metabolism). Read on to find out how to start doing interval training sessions.

Make sure you warm up either by following the warm-up routine or by working up from a gentle stroll to a brisk walk over the 5 minutes. Either use a stopwatch or just keep a careful eye on your watch.

Break into a gentle run for 1 minute. After the minute is up, start slowing down into your fast walk. But, make sure it is the same speed as the brisk walk which you started out with.

Repeat the whole process 10 times in all so you can achieve a 30 minutes workout in addition to your initial warm up.

Make sure you spend another 5 minutes cooling down and letting your heart rate return to normal. If you feel out of breath (or dizzy) at any point in time during the workout, resume to a fast walk speed until are suitably recovered.

It is important to wear good trainers to cushion and support you feet and ankles. Don't try too hard as it may be very tempting to go charging off during your first running phase but you will probably end up out of breath and this will definitely put more strain on your joints.

Lastly, interval training uses mainly carbohydrates (rather than fat) for energy. But, because of its increased intensity level, it will still burn more calories overall. Therefore, interval training is an effective way to turn your body into a fat-burning furnace and get your sexy ripped abs to show up in the shortest time possible.
