I really envy Donald Trump for his innate talent to sleep only four hours everyday. I need lots of sleep everyday. I hate wasting time, but I do assure myself that my abs are healing well.
If anyone hasn't already told you this yet, it is important to understand that sleep is a big factor in determining how much your abdominal muscles can grow, how well your body recovers from exercise and how well you manage stress. Recent studies have proven that if you get just one or two hours less sleep than regular sleeping hours, your cortisol levels will gradually be higher, which again can lead to loss of lean muscle mass.
Most people require around seven to eight hours of sleep every night for their body to function at its highest efficiency. Some others claimed that they can survive with only four to five hours of sleep every night. In fact, by sleeping less than what they need, they are just encouraging more fats at the abdominals and a host of other problems by not getting enough sleep.
Always try to drink sufficient water throughout the day. Many health professionals recommend at least 8-10 glasses per day, or a gallon or more for people who are on a workout day. I don't actually measure exactly and try to get the particular amount of water each day.
But, it's a good idea to keep a water bottle with you at all times, and take a sip when you feel the need for it. You'll know if you're hydrated enough by whether your urine is clear or dark yellow. You want it to be clear to very light yellow. If it starts to get darker, make sure you gulp down some water.
Staying well hydrated allows your body to function at 100% efficiently, burn as much fat as appropriate, maintain highest exercise performance, and helps you control your appetite so you don't overeat. You should not replace your water intake with sweetened drinks such as sodas and juices as the extra calories will usually be deposited as body fat.
Ideally, drinking just plain water and glasses of unsweetened teas throughout the day goes a long way in achieving the perfect ripped abs.
