Do two sets of 8 to 15 repetitions. Increase the weight over time as this move becomes easy. If you have back problems or feel any strain in your lower back, skip the weights.

Okay, that's not really an ab workout but my point is to be hyper-active sometimes. Children have an innate way of being active. They go all out for a few minutes, then collapse, then get their energy back and go all out again, then collapse. While I don't really recommend collapsing, you should try to spend some all-out intense minutes of exercise on most days of the week. You can't keep that energy expenditure going for too long (which is why kids naturally stop moving that hard) but getting your heart rate up that much is good for your health and your waistline.
