Steaks - Beef is a classic muscle-building protein item. It has the largest component of creatine amongst all other food items. Creatine is the substance that your body uses to lift weights. Beef however have an obvious disadvantage when you are choosing something to eat when you are outside.
Beef contains saturated fats, but some cuts have more than others. It's better to choose rounds or loins, sirloins and New York strips that are less fatty than prime ribs and T-bones.
Wash down that steak with a glass of fat-free milk. It is unclear whether does calcium reduce the amount of saturated fat your body absorbs. However, it is a worth a try, doesn't it?
If you hate the feeling of having an oily taste in your mouth after eating grilled meat, you can get a glass of lime juice to eliminate that undesirable oily feeling. It makes you less guilty too.
Olive Oil - Olive oil lowers cholesterol and boots the immune system. Besides, it contains monounsaturated fat and vitamin E.
It fights against obesity, cancer, heart disease and even high blood pressure.
Although olive oil is slightly more expensive than the normal oils i.e. canola oil, peanut oil, sesame oil. Olive oil also helps keep your food cravings in check, burn fat and is an automatic cholesterol watcher.
You finally found a better alternative than shortening! It is too bad that McDonald's doesn't use this kind of oil.
Milk and Other Diary Products - Usually, my mother (and yours) would usually recommend me and all my other kiddy friends to drink milk for only one reason- to increase the level of calcium in your body to strengthen the bones.
Well, the reason why I am going to recommend you to drinking milk in your abs diet till the day I die is because milk and other diary products have vitamins A and B, phosphorous and potassium.
Besides, milk also fights against high blood pressure and cancer and of course, osteoporosis!
But, why milk in your abs diet? This is because milk fulfills one ultimate purpose in your abs diet which I believe it is the most crucial to dieting or weight loss-volume that fills your belly (hopefully six-pack abs).
Liquids like milk not only take up a huge amount of volume in your stomach as part of your abs diet. You have a good reason to digest more calcium in your abs diet (which I believe it should be the major source of calcium).
After you down a couple of glasses of milk in your abs diet, the stomach sends a signal to your brain telling you that you should be full instead of looking for other foods to eat.
Normally, I suggest to people who are building abs to ice-blend many ice-cubes together with yogurt and berries (your favorite types). Add in some chocolate flavored whey powder and you might have created the smoothie that has potent ability in your abs diet in burning the fat to feed your muscles and abs.
Do not try to convince yourself that sour cream and sweetened milk are good for you in your diet. Those kind of processed milk and frozen fruit yogurts are usually filled with calories and fat. Try opting for fresh milk, NOT whole milk in your abs diet.
By now, you know all the food items that you are supposed to incorporate into your diet. The thing that you need to do now is to actually do the correct ab workouts in order to fulfill the equation that I had stated above. Remember that :
80% Diet + 20% Workout = Your Ripped Abs!
